DongMing Xia is a guitarlist who has been active in the Jazz stage in Beijing for nearly decade.

 

He entered the Beijing Midi Music School in 2002 and studied under the guidance of distinguished Chinese jazz musicians like Lawrence Ku，Xia Jia, Liu Yue, and others. He is influenced by traditional jazz like Grant Green, Wes Montgomery, Jim Hall and Peter Bernstein.   He has worked with musicians both at home and abroad for many years. He taught at he Tianjin Culture and Beijing Contemporary Music Academy since 2013. During that period, he took an active part in activities of various jazz stages in Beijing as a young jazz guitarist. Currently, He is furthering his study his study for a master’s degree in jazz performance at Prince Claus Conservatory in Groningen, the Netherlands.
