Nick Wei
As one of the representative personages of "director of the new generation", Nick has his music compositions and film productions widely known in mainland China. In 2001, Nick was admitted to the Music Institute of Guangxi Arts University and offered to apprentice himself to Zhong Juncheng—the representative professor of modernist composition. Then in 2009, he applied for a master’s degree of film and media art major at Waikato University, New Zealand.
Nick then graduated with his excellent performance. Afterwards, he taught film and television production at Guangxi University for Nationalities. Apart from that, he was awarded the title of the chief director and artistic director of Beijing 21 Oriental Panorama Film Company. His work was listed in the selection scope of the Bite the Mango Film Festival in the UK.
In 2018, he hold the post of chief director in the music drama “From Zhuang”—the first one about original folk songs of the Zhuang nationality combined with world music. In the same year, he filled the post of director in “abide by morality, insist on justice”—the largest live-action water-screen movie who broke the Guinness Record—as well as the advertising director of the effectors of Bose—an American brand.
